Sexless Marriage
In the condition of unconsummated marriage, the couple fail to have penetrative sexual intercourse. These are also called incomplete marriages. Most of the couples are dreadful to find that they are unable to have sex. The reason behind sexless marriage is male or sometimes female that affects the other partner to feel embarrassed.
The reasons that contribute to the sexless marriage are:
- Vaginismus
- Dyspareunia
- Erectile Dysfunction
- Fear of pregnancy (both male and female)
- Premature Ejaculation
- Poor technique of intercourse
Diagnosis & Treatment:
When the couple approaches the sexologist, he/she may collect the full medical history of the couple individually followed by a joint session. The history and reasons given by both male and female are thoroughly examined by the sexologist. Along with history collection, lab tests are also suggested to find whether any hormonal issues exist in male or female. Finally, doctor conducts sex therapy or couple therapy to resolve the problem.
